As it happens, her husband Jeff had an aunt, Marie Locklear, who worked in Home Care at Plymouth Harbor, and his mother had worked on private duty here as well. This means she already knew from the start that this was great environment in which to work.
Originally hired as a Companion in the Home Care Department in August 1988, Sherrie later became a Certified Nursing Assistant in February 1989. She joined the Smith Care Center staff in 2000 as a Ward Clerk and as a result of a recent departmental reorganization, she now holds a Unit Clerk position.
Sherrie is a self-starter and pays attention to accuracy and efficiency in her work. Not one to want to waste a moment of time, she is always looking for more to tackle. Those around her know that it is always nice to see her friendly smile behind the desk as she graciously serves the needs of both residents and guests.
Sherrie and Jeff Humes have two daughters, Tammy and Veronica, and a son Paul. They together have four granddaughters and one grandson. Sherrie enjoys going to the casino in her spare time and loves the slot machines.
