The Plymouth Harbor Foundation Awards Over $110,000 in 2025 Scholarships to Team Members and Family
July 24, 2025 | For Immediate Release
SARASOTA, FL – The Plymouth Harbor Foundation recently held its annual Scholarship Reception, honoring the academic achievements of Plymouth Harbor team members and their families. This year, a total of 27 scholarships were awarded, including 16 for team members and 11 for the children of team members. The total funding for this year’s scholarship initiative amounts to over $110,000, representing a 127% increase from 2024.
“The Scholarship Reception is one of the most meaningful events we host each year,” said Chris Pfahler, Vice President of Philanthropy at Plymouth Harbor. “It’s a celebration of ambition, perseverance, and the incredible generosity of our residents and donors who make these scholarships possible. Their support is a powerful reminder of the deep bonds that define our Plymouth Harbor community.”
The 2025 recipients represent a diverse range of educational goals, including nursing, business, the arts, and technical programs. The scholarships are made possible largely through the generosity of Plymouth Harbor residents, whose contributions reinforce the strong relationship between employees and the community they serve.
The Plymouth Harbor Foundation, a subsidiary of Plymouth Harbor, Inc., offers several funding opportunities, including scholarships, to employees through programs such as the Hardship Fund and the Cultural Bridge Program. Since 2013, the Foundation has awarded over $486,000 in scholarships to 186 team members and their family members, supporting their pursuit of continued education.
In addition to scholarships awarded through the Plymouth Harbor Foundation, $10,000 in academic support was provided through the Bernard and Mildred Doyle Charitable Trust Scholarship through Northern Trust. Bernard and Mildred Doyle, better known as Larry and Mimi Doyle, were residents of Plymouth Harbor for 20 years until their deaths in 1997. The Doyle Scholarship provides $10,000 per year that can be renewed for up to three additional years.
